Meet the Professionals of Equity Financial Services

(Click on Mike's and Rob's names below to view their biographical videos.)

The Indiana and Colorado Team:

Michael Freeman, President of Equity Financial Services, has provided professional financial planning services for over 20 years.  He founded the company in Hendricks County, and it has grown to include staff throughout central Indiana and north central Florida.  Michael primarily serves Hendricks County and the surrounding area, however, he is licensed in many states and is able to serve your financial needs through every stage of your life.  Equity Financial Services is one of the top-producing agencies for Sammons Securities Company.  Michael has been published in journals such as Hendricks County Business Leader and Indiana Prairie Farmer.  He has served on committees for the Hendricks County Community Foundation and Plainfield Chamber of Commerce.  In his spare time he enjoys relaxing with his family either on a sunny beach or a snowy ski slope.

Rick Edwards:  His personal mission is to improve his clients’ lives through careful management of their assets and developing long-term relationships.  He believes in serving as a mentor and teacher to his clients; educating them about the markets, risk vs. volatility, risk vs. reward and, most important, the value of a written financial plan.  His investment strategies include diversification, asset allocation, stock and bond selection, account monitoring as well as using the resources of a team of professionals to determine the most appropriate investment strategies.  Rick lives in Plainfield, enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.

Bill Kardokus is our resident specialist in life insurance.  He works with our clients to match their needs with the appropriate level of life insurance.  Bill also works with small businesses to develop 401k plans.  A native of the Texas plains, he enjoys every minute of baseball season.

The Florida Team:

Robert Freeman is a well-known financial representative in the Greater Orlando area. He has assisted over 1,000 families wisely to invest over $10,000,000.   Additionally, Robert has helped many Orlando retirees save on their taxes and plan their retirement.   Robert has published articles in the Life In Altamonte Springs magazine and has taught classes on finances and retirement planning for a local college, dozens of major corporations and the public.  Robert lives with his wife, Sharon, in Errol Estate.

Matthew Marcus is an experienced Financial Planner and veteran Central Florida banker who brings a multi-cultural approach to his profession.  With Spanish and Portuguese language skills acquired from years of living in Latin America, he possesses the cultural awareness to serve a diverse clientele.  He specializes in crafting financial plans that are tailored to each client's individual needs.  A native Floridian and University of Florida graduate, he makes his home in Longwood with his wife and two children.
John F. Moore, Rhu, Lutcf, has been serving central Florida in the same location for over 30 years and is the fourth generation of a family dedicated to the insurance and financial services industry.

John is a fully licensed insurance agent, registered representative and investment advisor representative (Fee-based investment advisory services offered through Sigma Planning Corporation; a registered investment advisor) in the states of Florida and Michigan.  He is licensed to sell life, health, property and casualty insurance, annuities and securities.  John offers securities through Sammons Securities Co LLC, member FINRA/SIPC.  He is dedicated to the independent brokerage business representing clients instead of companies.

For the last five years John has taught financial and retirement planning classes at Orange and Seminole county libraries, Stetson University’s Deland and Celebration campuses and Valencia Community College Enterprise Campus.

John is a strong believer in volunteerism in his community.  To that end and for the last ten years, he has acted as Treasurer for the downtown Orlando Thornton Park Neighborhood Association.  Through that Association he was actively involved as project manager/fundraiser in the construction of the Four Rivers Fountain centrally located in the Thornton Park business district roundabout.  Through ongoing annual fundraisers the Association has provided needed funds for the homeless coalition, SPCA and ongoing repair and maintenance of the fountain at no taxpayer cost. While attending and after leaving school at Stetson and UCF, John also was assistant soccer coach for five years at Trinity Prep on a volunteer basis.

Always interested in new adventures, John has twice crossed the United States by bicycle; once solo and once as the leader for a group ranging in age from 15 to 68 in the 200th celebration of our nation in a program known as “Bikecentennial.”  John also completed the inaugural Disney and the 100th Boston marathons and still enjoys jogging, biking and lifting weights.  John lives with his wife Colleen and fourth beagle, Riley, in downtown Orlando.
